Never make a promise you don’t intend to keep…

Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother's art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The Red painted red, but it's in the red.

Just as she realizes she has no choice but to sell it, a mysterious man comes in after closing time and makes her an offer: He will save The Red if she agrees to submit to him for the period of one year.

The man is handsome, English, and terribly tempting...but surely her mother didn't mean for Mona to sell herself to a stranger. Then again, she did promise to do anything to save The Red...

The Red is a standalone novel of erotic fantasy from Tiffany Reisz, international bestselling author of The Bourbon Thief and the Original Sinners series.

OH MY GOD. Honestly, this book is going to stay with me for a long time because I've never read anything like it.

Now the story began with Mona, whose art gallery was on the verge of closing permanently because of its mounting debts, getting a visit from a mysterious older man who offered to save her gallery in exchange for her sexual submission. It sounded like your typical arrangement and I didn't think much of it, until the arrangement started and took me by surprise.

Honestly? I don't know how to review this properly without spoiling it because there are a lot of things I want to say about the plot but it's better to discover them on your own. What I truly love about The Red is how Tiffany weaved the plot around real art pieces. I know next to nothing about 19th century art so I had to google all the pieces before every chapter, and knowing the art pieces enhanced the enjoyment of the story. I love Mona a lot; she's so strong and unapologetic about her sexuality. I love her interactions with Malcolm, and I love how hot they are together. This whole book is just sexy from start to finish; I'm half in love with Malcolm myself by the end of it.

Overall, I've read a lot of erotic romance that they're starting to blend together, but The Red definitely stands out from the crowd. I've been steadily rereading it ever since I finished it the first time, and I don't think I'll stop anytime soon.

  1. This may not be a book I would usually read but glad to hear you enjoyed it. I kind of have my doubts about the whole deal idea but it sounds like the book did the whole deal justice and made a really original read. And the art pieces in it as well? I love that because it sounds like it really adds something to the story.
