As most of you may already know, Katee Robert is one of my favorite romance writers. I've really enjoyed the previous books in the series and while I'm not always a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope, I gave this one a shot. Overall, A Fool For You was a signature Katee Robert book with the steam factor and great characterizations.
I really really liked Hope's character. She was a resilient girl, with a ton of courage and strength to her personality. She's one of those people who has learned to overcome whatever tragedy she has had to face (in her case, a broken knee), become entirely independent and basically turned into the strongest version of herself. The accident may have left her with a dead brother and a bad knee, but you could never tell with the brave face she showed everyone. There was a lot to admire about this girl and I couldn't have appreciated her more.
Daniel, on the other hand, was a really tough cookie for me. He wasn't always the easiest to gauge. As the driver of the car that led to Hope's brother's death, he was overwhelmed by his feelings for guilt and for thirteen years he has refused to move on. While I understood where he was coming from, his inability to move forward and his constant complaining was frustrating for me as a reader. I think Daniel had a lot of potential - I could see it in the scenes when he was being kind and gentle with Hope, but he didn't fully work for me as a love interest. I also found it hard to get over the fact that he basically ditched Hope after the accident even though she was his girlfriend.
I will say that as with all of Katee Robert's couples, Hope and Daniel had a lot of chemistry together. The author is fantastic at making that connection between her couples seem tangible and raw. Every sex scene was blazing hot and I didn't expect anything less from Katee Robert! There was a lot of emotions too between these two given how this is a second chance romance and I thought those feelings of resentment and love were explored well. I thought the surprise pregnancy would bother me when I started the book, but I thought it was handled with tact and realism.
Overall even though I wasn't the biggest fan of the hero in A Fool For You, I enjoyed the heroine and the romance in it a lot. I always expect Brazen books to be sexy, quick and entertaining and A Fool For You definitely delivered in that way.
New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Katee Robert learned to tell her stories at her grandpa’s knee. She found romance novels at age twelve and they changed her life. When not writing sexy contemporary and romantic suspense, she spends her time playing imaginary games with her children, driving her husband batty with what-if questions, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

It’s been thirteen years since Hope Moore left Devil’s Falls, land of sexy cowboys and bad memories. Back for the weekend, she has no intention of seeing the man she never got over…or the two of them getting down and dirty. It’s just a belated goodbye, right? No harm, no foul.
Until six weeks later, when her pregnancy test comes back positive…
Daniel Rodriguez hasn’t forgiven himself for how things went down with Hope all those years ago. He knows she’s better off without him, but when she shows up on his doorstep, panicking because she’s pregnant with his baby, he can’t help seeing it as a chance to make up for the past.
Too bad Hope has no intention of going along with his plans.
