Hello, everyone! How have you been doing?
Feels like I haven't done any personal/update posts in ages. April was so hectic and too short, or is it just me? I was traveling early in the month, then my grandfather got really sick and passed away in the middle, and I finally got the awaited email from my uni: I passed my Master's thesis evaluation! So close to graduation now.
Have you been following the #rombklove tag on Twitter? For everyday this month, there will be romance-related prompts and readers are free to use the tag to recommend books according to the prompts and get recs in return! This challenge is created by Ana Coqui and each prompt is hosted by different romance reader, which is so fun. You can read more about the challenge here. Yesterday's prompt was single parent, and I've had a blast talking about my faves. I also had fun talking to new people and bonding over our favourite reads.
Reading-wise, this week is a good reading week for me. I've finished three review books, reread an old favourite, as well as finished a couple of novellas.
The Trouble with True Love has fake courtship! I love how the relationship between Clara and Rex developed from we're in this together to I wish we were together for real.
Savor You is a second chance romance story between two people who reunited after ten years. Fun fact: they also used to be married! I wish it had more a plot but I was invested enough in both Mia and Camden to enjoy this book. They're both chefs so there were a lot of cooking in this book, which I love.
Hooked On You is one of my most anticipated reads this year and I'm glad to report that it doesn't disappoint! Bren and Vi finally got together in this one, can I have a hell yeah?! So much sexy, so much fun, and it comes out tomorrow (May 7th)! I'll be posting a review on Thursday as a part of the blog tour and I can't wait to share it with you.
Will You Still Love Me? is an impulse buy after reading this fabulous review. It's $0.99 on Amazon right now, and it's super short, but I was so satisfied after finishing it (which rarely happens with novellas). I love books that make me feel, and this book is one of them. I was sobbing by the end of the story. It's intense, sexy, emotional, and look at that cover!
Reading Real Man is also an impulse thing. I saw the ARC on Netgalley and thought it'd be fun to try it. The best thing about Carina Press Dirty Bites is just that: it's short and dirty, and I was in the mood for short and dirty. The story is about a hotshot rich lawyer whose car broke down one day, and she met this hot, rough-looking mechanic who came to tow her car. Cue the sexy times. It was a fun read.
I miss Laura Florand and I'm still mourning the fact that she's on hiatus and won't be releasing new stuff this year, so 2018 will be a Florand reread year. I've reread The Chocolate Thief a couple of months ago, so it's time for The Chocolate Kiss. Philippe and Magalie are one of my favourite Florand couples. I'm glad I reread this because I forgot how sexy this book was. Seduce me with hot chocolate and macarons!
I'm looking forward to read and review these books in my ARC list:
Hot Asset by Lauren Layne
Melt For You by J.T. Geissinger
Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen
It's All About The Duke by Amelia Grey
The Bashful Bride by Vanessa Riley
Stripped by Tara Wyatt
One Night Wife by Ainslie Paton
