A short recap.

Hello, everyone! How have you been doing?

Feels like I haven't done any personal/update posts in ages. April was so hectic and too short, or is it just me? I was traveling early in the month, then my grandfather got really sick and passed away in the middle, and I finally got the awaited email from my uni: I passed my Master's thesis evaluation! So close to graduation now.

Have you been following the #rombklove tag on Twitter? For everyday this month, there will be romance-related prompts and readers are free to use the tag to recommend books according to the prompts and get recs in return! This challenge is created by Ana Coqui and each prompt is hosted by different romance reader, which is so fun. You can read more about the challenge here. Yesterday's prompt was single parent, and I've had a blast talking about my faves. I also had fun talking to new people and bonding over our favourite reads.

Reading-wise, this week is a good reading week for me. I've finished three review books, reread an old favourite, as well as finished a couple of novellas.

The Trouble with True Love has fake courtship! I love how the relationship between Clara and Rex developed from we're in this together to I wish we were together for real

Savor You is a second chance romance story between two people who reunited after ten years. Fun fact: they also used to be married! I wish it had more a plot but I was invested enough in both Mia and Camden to enjoy this book. They're both chefs so there were a lot of cooking in this book, which I love.

Hooked On You is one of my most anticipated reads this year and I'm glad to report that it doesn't disappoint! Bren and Vi finally got together in this one, can I have a hell yeah?! So much sexy, so much fun, and it comes out tomorrow (May 7th)! I'll be posting a review on Thursday as a part of the blog tour and I can't wait to share it with you.

Will You Still Love Me? is an impulse buy after reading this fabulous review. It's $0.99 on Amazon right now, and it's super short, but I was so satisfied after finishing it (which rarely happens with novellas). I love books that make me feel, and this book is one of them. I was sobbing by the end of the story. It's intense, sexy, emotional, and look at that cover!

Reading Real Man is also an impulse thing. I saw the ARC on Netgalley and thought it'd be fun to try it. The best thing about Carina Press Dirty Bites is just that: it's short and dirty, and I was in the mood for short and dirty. The story is about a hotshot rich lawyer whose car broke down one day, and she met this hot, rough-looking mechanic who came to tow her car. Cue the sexy times. It was a fun read.

I miss Laura Florand and I'm still mourning the fact that she's on hiatus and won't be releasing new stuff this year, so 2018 will be a Florand reread year. I've reread The Chocolate Thief a couple of months ago, so it's time for The Chocolate Kiss. Philippe and Magalie are one of my favourite Florand couples. I'm glad I reread this because I forgot how sexy this book was. Seduce me with hot chocolate and macarons!
I'm looking forward to read and review these books in my ARC list:

Hot Asset by Lauren Layne
Melt For You by J.T. Geissinger
Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen

It's All About The Duke by Amelia Grey
The Bashful Bride by Vanessa Riley

Stripped by Tara Wyatt
One Night Wife by Ainslie Paton

Week in Review #10

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had excellent weeks. It was another busy week for me with shopping, packing and weddings. I'm starting to feel sad that this is going to be my last week at home with my family. I won't be able to return home until at least next December and I don't know how to handle that. I am looking forward to spending the rest of the month with them while traveling though.

This will also probably be my last week in review for a while. These posts don't take me a long time to write up, but I'm not sure what my WiFi situation is going to be like. I will have posts scheduled for the whole time I'm gone, so please stop by if you have some time. Once I'm all settled in, I'll return all your comments.

Week in Review #9

Hello hello!

How is everyone doing? My week was decent except for a terrible gum ache after a visit to the dentist last weekend. But my gums are on the mend now. We're all busy getting ready to travel in a few weeks, so the house is a huge mess. So I apologize for my interactions on your guys' blogs being on the low side. I seriously appreciate all of you who take your time to visit my blog and read a comment! <3

With graduate school starting in a couple of months, and running two blogs, I've been thinking about opening up The Girl with the Happily Ever Afters to guest reviewers. I created a Google Sign Up sheet if anyone was interested. It's a low-key gig and there's honestly no pressure. It can be a one-time thing or multiple times. It's all up to you! So if you are interested, please sign up HERE! If you can also share links to the sign ups I'd be very grateful!

Week in Review #8

Hi guys!

How is everyone doing this week? My week was good (for once yay!). A lot of things are starting to move in a good direction and I'm relieved. Plus, all those inspiring speeches this week have given me hope! Seriously, can we talk about how amazing and inspirational Michelle Obama's speech was? Talk about wow!

I'm always a little nervous to share my reviews/graphics with authors on Twitter, but I was really excited about my review for A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet, so I tweeted her a link and omg her reaction made my whole day!
I had a huge smile on my face the whole day thanks to her reaction!
Anyways, let's get to the recap part of my week in review!

Week in Review #6

Hi friends

How are all of you doing? I hope everyone had a good week. I'm starting to sound like a broken record, which is really sad and upsetting, but this was another week of violence, carnage and hatred. I would really love some tips as to how you all stay positive through perpetual news like this because I'm finding it difficult to deal with all the panic and anxiety that comes along every time something like this happens. I've been reading more and more to get my mind off things, but the relief is very short-lasting.

I read a lot of adult books this week because that's what I was in the mood for. Some were great, some not so great, but overall, I had a good reading week. Here is my recap:

Week in Review #5

Hi friends

I hope everyone is doing okay. Before I get to my review, I just wanted to say, in the midst of all this senseless violence, death and hatred, please take care of yourself and your loved ones. Too much is going on  in this world and I know it looks bleak but we have to believe that love will eventually win and fight for it.

I had a reading list all planned for this week, but I wasn't in the mood for any of the titles I picked up, so I ended up just reading whatever I felt like at the time. I also took a visit to the library next door and stocked up on some historical romance novels. Here is my recap:

Week In Review #3

Hello friends!

How is everyone doing? Did any of you get money back from Apple settlement? I sure did and I wasn't even expecting anything. Now to decide what books I want ...
Anyways, I had a good reading week. With the exception of one read, everything I read was fantastic, so I'm excited to share my week in review with you all.

Week In Review #2

Hello friends!

I hope you're all doing well. I had a decent reading week, though I did wish I had read more books that I loved. I've been reading more and more romance lately over YA books and I've been scourging Goodreads to find new titles to add to my TBR. I think it's safe to say that I'm all set with books for the next 700 years! Let's get to my review.

Week In Review #1

Hello friends!

I wanted to start doing mini weekly recaps on this blog, so that I can share more of my weekly review links, but also tell you a bit about the books I've been reading. Sometimes, I don't get the chance to review every book that I snag, and being the book-pusher that I am, I don't really want to miss talking about some books. Anyways, let's get started!
